I have spent my career moving between three perspectives: founder, hands-on engineer, and technical leader. That combination shapes how I approach consulting. I care about architecture and engineering quality, but also about cost, customers, delivery, and whether a recommendation is realistic for the business making the decision.

I have made technical decisions from the founder’s seat

Before becoming a full-time software engineer, I founded and scaled Encore Music Lessons, a multimillion-dollar online marketplace. I built and operated the systems behind the business while also managing customer acquisition, payments, operations, and growth. That experience prevents me from treating technical decisions as isolated engineering exercises.

Current technical leadership

I currently serve as a senior software engineer and technical lead supporting veteran-facing services on VA.gov, guiding architecture, technical planning, delivery, code review, and engineer development for secure public-facing systems. I also founded and lead an AI Community of Practice serving a 184-person engineering organization, focused on practical adoption of Claude Code, agentic coding workflows, and responsible use of AI in real development environments.
